The job offer can give you from 50 to 200 additional points in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) if you have applied through Express Entry.
These points bring you closer to Permanent Residency.
The most important thing is that the Job Offer meets the requirements to be valid in the eyes of the Express Entry System. Below we list the most important requirements:
It must be a full-time paid job, at least 30 hours per week for a single employer or it can be two employers in the case of candidates of the Skilled Worker Program (FSTP).
It cannot be a seasonal job and must be ongoing for at least one year after obtaining your permanent resident visa.
The job offer must be in writing and specify your salary, your main duties and your work schedule.
If your job offer is managerial, e.g., Mine Manager or Restaurant Manager you can get up to 200 CRS points.
In most cases, your employer needs a Labor Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) to support your job offer for Express Entry. Some jobs do not require a LMIA.
The LMIA can be exempted if the employee comes from a country with a trade agreement with Canada such as the Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA) or a Provincial-Federal agreement or it is in the interest of the Employer that your job profile has a social, cultural or economic impact in Canada.
We know that it is not easy to navigate through all the information offered by the Government of Canada through its Department of Refugees, Citizenship and Immigration.
